Pellegatti: Milan’s thoughts on Mazraoui, Florenzi, Pobega and Scamacca

By Oliver Fisher -

The well-known Milan journalist Carlo Pellegatti has provided updates on a number of players that the Rossoneri have been recently linked with.

Speaking on his YouTube channel (via MilanLive), Pellegatti pointed out that something to consider heading into the summer is the composition of Milan’s squad, particularly in relation to the amount of home-grown and Italian players.

If Franck Kessie and Alessio Romagnoli were to leave then that would leave Antonio Mirante (contract expiring), Sandro Tonali and Alessandro Florenzi (on loan) as Italians, as well as those who came through the academy in Davide Calabria, Matteo Gabbia and Daniel Maldini, plus Tommaso Pobega and Alessandro Plizzari.

Milan could be interested in Noussair Mazraoui of Ajax but without necessarily giving up on Florenzi or Calabria. The former could be the sacrificed given that he is on loan, but given his experience and personality he is more likely to stay.

When it comes to signings, Italians must be taken into consideration and that’s why in attack the management are thinking of Gianluca Scamacca from Sassuolo, but he is very expensive. There are not a lot of good players in Italy and those who are cost a lot.

He concludes by stating that Pobega could really be part of the Milan squad moving forward. Torino want to sign him permanently, but Paolo Maldini has so far closed the door.
