Milan loanee Nasti admits that he ‘likes Icardi more’ than Ibrahimovic

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan’s on-loan striker Marco Nasti has made the surprise revelation that he considers Mauro Icardi more of an idol than Zlatan Ibrahimovic, albeit due to their different style of play.

Nasti is currently on loan at Bari in Serie B where he has two goals in 11 appearances so far, and he was interviewed on ‘A Tutto Campo’ which is a radio show broadcast on TeleBari frequencies local to Bari.

The young striker spoke about his team’s current moment given they just changed head coach from Mignani to Pasquale Marino – as well as the relationship he has with his family and who his role models are on the field.

Although he met Ibrahimovic during his time with Milan’s youth team, Nasti admitted that he prefers another player, one who has always been Milan’s rival given his past with Inter.

What was your relationship with football growing up?

“Even as a child I always had the ball in my hand. My dad is a Napoli fan. He left me free saying to think about my future. What if I hadn’t become a footballer? I would focus on school. My mother took me to play football for the first time because I was restless and never sat still, I was a lively child.

“I love my brothers a lot, the little one plays for Milan. When we see each other we play video games. I care a lot about my family, I suffer a bit from the distance. I like travelling, I would like to visit the whole world.”

Who is your role model?

“I met Ibrahimovic, he doesn’t have my style of play but I like him a lot. I like Icardi more. On the possibility of playing abroad? I would go to Spain more than to England, but the Premier League is still the Premier League.”

What are your impressions on the new head coach?

“The new coach Marino is giving me a lot of advice, they are different movements from those I did under Mignani. We compare ourselves a lot. I also opened up to him about personal aspects that weren’t going well.

“I enjoy playing with Diaw, but also with my other team-mates. I like playing in a two-man attack, with a close attacker. With Davide we can give more weight and more goals to the attack, as well as obviously helping the team.”
