Chelsea have expressed an interest in signing Rafael Leao from AC Milan this summer but the Rossoneri’s stance is very clear, a report claims.
According to Corriere della Sera (via PianetaMilan), the Blues are back in the market for a quality young winger having missed out on Raphinha, who chose Barcelona. However, what filters from Milan is a denial that Chelsea have expressed a concrete interest in Leao or that they have even enquired.
Moreover, Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara have made it clear that their intention is to continue with the Portuguese international, even if renewal talks with agent Jorge Mendes are proceeding clowly.
Leao currently earns €1.5m net per season on a deal running until 30 June 2024 and Mendes considers the contractual proposal of €4m per year proposed by Milan to be insufficient. He wants at least €6m for his client, especially given the nearly €20m fine due to Sporting CP.
Milan are not intimidated by Chelsea though, and they have made it clear that any club who wants Leao will have to pay the €150m release clause valid in his contract until 2024.
No one will pay that amount though.

If the renewal negotiation stacked before the new season or at the end of mercato, and there are some offers around 60-70, I guess to cash him is profitable solution for milan. Indeed, he is one of player that has great impact on the scudetto, but he is not the only one. So, getting another player with similar or better skill from the selling wouldn’t make any loss for milan.
Im gonna say it now, that release clause will only f*** us and not help us. He will stay and not renew bc nobody wants to pay that for a guy who was hella inconsistent before the last 3 months and only got 3 good months. He will leave for free I’m 100% sure. I saw that Milan don’t want to lose him for free so it’s renewing or leave, but nobody is gonna pay 150M, he isn’t even worth that by a mile, 70M max
I give you an advice M&M, rather than spending your money on CDK, just spend you 6mil on raising Leao salary. I mean, we already have Saelemakers in Milan, why bother adding another Saelemakers? For those who think that CDK is like KDB, or even Kaka, you can bookmark this page and come insult me this season if what I said is wrong. And if CDK is really joining us, but it looks like he will join Milan
@Jan Cuuk. I absolutely agree. I have seen CDK play and he is just slightly better than average. Nothing too special and I personally also think Saele is better than CDK.
I wouldn’t spend a dime over 30 mil for cdk just because some english bottomfeeder is overinflating his price. Most fans here only saw a few highlight videos in YT and thinks he is the next DeBruyne. He’s FAAR From it and has a looooong way to go.
I believe we should definitely sell leao if we have a 120m+ offer. Looks like Mendez is gonna pimp him to every club and let the contract run out to get a hefty commission.
We shouldn’t let that happen. Chelsea can have leao for 150mil. The only problem is, there is no better LW available at the moment to replace Leao.
The best solution would be to tie leao to a contract ASAP.
