The collapse of the Noah Okafor to RB Leipzig deal has complicated AC Milan’s plans, but the exit of Luka Jovic has now become a possibility.
Milan hoped to free up a slot for a new signing with the Swiss forward’s departure, but the precarious physical condition revealed by the medical tests he underwent in the last few hours have caused the operation to fall through.
It is an unforeseen event that forces the management to change its plans and evaluate other exits, to free space and also funds to go for either Marcus Rashford or Kyle Walker before the end of the month.
According to Sky (via Calciomercato.com), in the last few hours Monaco have made an enquiry for Jovic. The Serbian has only played 78 minutes across three Serie A matches this season, also suffering from prolonged lower back pain that required surgery.
In the last few days of the summer window Milan tried to offload Jovic, with some Saudi and Turkish clubs coming forward, plus Zenit St. Petersburg. However, the ex-Frankfurt star preferred to honour contract that ties him to the Rossoneri until June 30.
Having arrived at Milan as a free agent in the summer of 2023, Jovic has made 35 appearances and scored nine goals. After having previously played for Red Star, Benfica, Eintracht Frankfurt, Real Madrid and Fiorentina, the next stop in his career could therefore be in the French league.
Go for Ansu Fati, he can become our Lookman
Insane. It’s a shame and a farce for this management to do that. It’s the same with Luka Romero, he was signed only to show capital gains when sold later on. Nothing more. There was no plan for these guys for the team all along.
Why not take a speculative punt on them? Jovic had one good season and then flopped at Madrid, and has 9 goals in 33 games for us in all competitions. It’s also quite clear that THREE different don’t seem to think he works in their system. Romero hasn’t done much in his career so far, including with us, to suggest he’s an asset. Jovic had one good season and Romero has “talent”, so there was always a chance they could come through. They were low cost/high upside gambles. They’re not panning out, so time to go. Jovic has 6 months left on his contract. How much “profit” do you think they’ll make selling time now? Romero is valued at 3.5M per Transfermarkt. Whoa, big profits! Not everything the club does is an evil plot just to make money!
9 goals as a sub is preaty good. Thats far from failiure.
I agree Rossi as his g/a stats compared to minutes played was in the top 3 of players from what i can recollect.
Maybe management thought orighi and jofic are the same profile tho jofic is cheaper, so they try to offload them. Imagine if orighi and jofic play together upfront.
He has not lived up to expectations, not with us and not with Madrid, same as all Frankfurt players. We can’t keep dead weight, he’s less effective than any of the strikers we’ve had in the past couple of years. Not worth it. Could’ve just gotten Kevin Lasagna and he would’ve been more effective.
Offload Cardinale, Zlatan and all director. None of them were truly milanisti, only money
If he preferred Milan contract before, probably he will prefer and later.
Management maybe will try to look for the cheapest and unsung nobody striker heroes out of nowhere but has good potential or at least they presume of.
We sorely need a certified, spot on striker.
Do remember that his our #9
