Milan owner Cardinale named among ‘most influential execs’ by Sports Business Journal

By Isak Möller -

Gerry Cardinale, the owner of AC Milan, has been making waves over the last few years especially in the sports industry. After taking over the Rossoneri, the American has only cemented his spot in that sense.

Cardinale took officially took over Milan back in September after agreeing a deal with Elliott Management. After the success with especially Toulouse and partly Liverpool, the Singer family felt Cardinale and his RedBird was the right pick.

As a result of his success in various fields, Sports Business Journal has named Cardinale on their list of “The most influential execs in sports business” within the category “dealmakers and disrupters who are driving mergers, major deals and expansions into new sectors”.

In addition to Cardinale, the likes of Todd Boehly and Mark Walter (Chelsea FC) were also named in that particular category.

There’s no doubt that Cardinale has a clear vision for Milan and it will be interesting to see how it will pan out. One can understand why Elliott chose him, seeing as RedBird’s vision for football includes creating success without outspending revenue (which many top clubs currently do).

  1. They’re wrong. Some fans here have already seen the future and Redbird & Cardinale are ruining Milan with everything they do. I mean, they couldn’t even get us Mbappe in last transfer window. 🙂
