Di Marzio: Milan expected to sign striker this week and immediately loan him out

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are in negotiations with both Monaco and Torino regarding the future of young striker Pietro Pellegri, according to reports.

The future of Pellegri continues to be the subject of speculation and the forward could leave Milan this month. The 21-year-old joined in the summer on a season-long loan with an option to buy set at €7m as per widespread reports, but he is yet to score a goal for the club and has spent plenty of time out due to injuries, continuing a trend from recent seasons.

Gianluca Di Marzio spoke on Sky (via MilanNews) last night and confirmed that there is a negotiation underway between Milan and Monaco regarding the early permanent signing of the Italy U21 international.

Milan’s plan is to buy the former Genoa man and then send him out on loan to Torino, with the operation likely to be completed as early as by the end of the current week.

  1. stupidly buy him for 7m, loan him out for cheap or free, with milan probably paying bulk of his wages, then eventually sell him for 2-3m later, every year, loss upon loss. how can a guy that has failed nor shown any sign of class be rewarded with a purchase?
