Two sources are reporting that AC Milan are ready to officially announce the extension of head coach Stefano Pioli and will do so shortly.
MilanNews writes that Pioli is very close to extending his current deal, which expires at the end of the season. The feeling is that the official announcement may arrive when CEO Ivan Gazidis returns from New York where he is currently undergoing new checks on the throat cancer that he is battling.
Meanwhile, Daniele Longo of Calciomercato.com confirms that the announcement of the renewal of Pioli could arrive next week as it is on Thursday that Gazidis will return to Italy for the last formal steps and to put pen to paper.
It is a well-earned gesture of faith and support from the club given the work that Pioli has done in transforming Milan from a side in mid-table when he arrived to now challenging for trophies again, all with a young squad that play exciting football.
