GdS: The motivational speech Pioli gave to the Milan squad ahead of Juventus and Inter games

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli gave a rousing speech to his players during Wednesday’s training session at Milanello ahead of two potentially season-defining games.

There is of course still some anger and disappointment regarding what happened on Monday night against Spezia as the referee made an error that proved fatal in the end, but there is also some responsibility on the team who could have closed the game earlier.

Milan created many opportunities and did not take them which they ended up paying for when Kevin Agudelo netted an equaliser in the second half that ended up putting the team back under pressure.

This morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Pioli made a speech to the team yesterday at Milanello during a technical meeting, with MilanLive relaying his comments.

“Against Juventus and Inter, what we usually do will not be enough. We will have to go further and we can do it because we are capable of it. We have already demonstrated this against opponents like this. An extraordinary Milan will be needed,” he said.

It is a message to his players that the group has to work hard at Milanello in the coming days so as to be ready to face Massimiliano Allegri’s team, who are unbeaten in 8 in the league with 6 wins.
