Charles De Ketelaere of AC Milan

GdS: Milan form a protective layer around De Ketelaere while waiting for breakthrough

It seems that AC Milan have thwarted their defensive issues for now but they must work on getting the attacking players firing, above all summer signing Charles De Ketelaere.

As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) this morning, De Ketelaere’s struggles continued against Monza on Saturday as he came off the bench in the second half after being left out of the starting line-up and then missed a big chance to open his account.

However, the Belgian has all of team-mates, the head coach Stefano Pioli and the management by his side as they wait for him to get the breakthrough that might just spark a better run of form.

Support has come from Rafael Leao recently as he remarked ‘My boy, the goal is coming’ after De Ketelaere’s missed header against Spurs in the Champions League, while even Brahim Diaz – who stole his starting spot – embraced him on Saturday after the victory against Monza.

In recent days, the words of Zlatan Ibrahimovic also helped as he publicly declared that De Ketelaere is a strong player, which is the same thought of Stefano Pioli: “You continue to believe in his qualities, as I do. The important thing is if he has certain chances, the goal will come. He’s just missing that and it would mean a lot: he’s young and he hoped to do more right away.”

It has not been the easiest of starts to life at the club for the 21-year-old, however the club continue to protect him and wait for the moment that lights a fuse.

      1. Why don’t you want to admit that he’s not at the level expected? Going to Juve forum? Just because I am saying a truth you don’t want to hear? You’re ridiculous !
