The AC Milan management are currently working on putting the finishing touches on the squad, but renewals are also on the agenda.
As we reach the conclusion of the 2025 summer transfer window, the last piece for Milan seems to be a centre-forward, with Rasmus Hojlund the main name in the media. However, Igli Tare and co. will also be working on offloading players that are not a part of the plans.

Contract talks to follow
Amid all of this, Milan are also scheduling talks for contract renewals. Today’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanNews) reports that several meetings are scheduled for this fall to try to extend the deals of several players in the squad.
With Christian Pulisic (whose contract expires in 2027 with an option), a draft agreement has been reached to extend his contract until 2029, with a salary increase of up to €5m. This is certainly a big positive, given the talk of doubts on the part of the American.

Regarding Mike Maignan (2026 deadline) and Saelemaekers (2027), talks need to get underway, and relations with the goalkeeper need to be mended in particular, after the recent events which left him ‘angry’.
All three players mentioned represent valuable and important pieces to the new Milan, so the goal is to reach an agreement as soon as possible to extend their contracts.

When window closes…..
Maignan might just go for free after we didn’t extend last year.
Pulisic will be sought after if he is injury free but seems to have found a home.
Salemaekers will probably be easier if he gets playing time.
Is there a reason we have to wait to start that……?
Focusing on getting the two missing players Allegri wants. Yeah. Those are more important than extending the ones we already have available for playing.
You can extend a player’s contract any time during the season.
Exactly!
pulisic and Mike Maignan are the top priorities. Saelemaekers isn’t important, selling him would be a good idea.
😭
You are clueless. He is very varsitile player and also evolved a lot since being loaned out to both Bologna and lately Roma..
We will see.. it looks like he clearly made a step up while at Roma but we will see. To me, the Saladman was one of the most frustrating players we had. The kid could dribble, could defend, could attack, had speed, great attitude, strong shot, decent passing. BUT he could never string it all together. I remember he dribble pass 3 guys, only to shoot way wide. Then next game, he couldnt make a pass to save his life, only to score a banger on the top right corner. lol ..i like him a lot but damn it, get it together.
Agree! When has Saladmaker became key player so that he is a top priority for renewal!? The guy just came from loan (Roma did not even try to buy him). What to offer to substitute, a pay rise just based on preseason!? Just joke of an article, and a club if that is true.
Milan need to get a quality striker and a strong and flexible center back too
I know I am repeating myself but Pulisic does not fit in Allegri ball. He won’t sign a renewal and will try to leave after this year. He does not see himself as a part time player which is what he will be at best. I’m American and always put my American players’ interest ahead of the club. That said, he should be a regular starter somewhere based on his performances over the last two years. To show I do have some reality testing- Musah has just not been good enough. The good news for Pulisic is his value is just going to decrease. This is what happened at Chelsea enabling ACM to get him for 20 ml. Tell me how I’m wrong.

Saelemaekers didn’t exactly jump off the page at Milan before his loan moves. Yes, he’s versatile but there’s a possibility that he plays better at smaller clubs, so this season would be a great litmus test for him.
Mike needs to be convinced of Milan’s ambitions and Max’s influence over the course of this season. So that’s on hold. As well as Puli, for that matter, but with the American the club have more time to “convince”.
