TMW: Milan and Rangnick emerge as obstacles for Leicester in pursuit of left-back

By Isak Möller -

Ahead of the important clash against Juventus, AC Milan’s lack of depth on the left-hand side of the defence has been exposed. With Theo Hernandez out, the Rossoneri only have Diego Laxalt left.

Of course, there’s a big difference between the two, so much that Stefano Pioli is set to place Davide Calabria on the left flank instead of the Uruguayan, per Gazzetta Dello Sport (via MilanNews.it). In other words, Milan need a left-back.

According to TuttoMercatoWeb, they have added Ryan Bertrand to their list of targets. The defender’s contract will expire in 2021, making him a good opportunity on the market with Leicester keen on signing him to replace the Chelsea-bound Ben Chilwell.

However, the Milan hypothesis shouldn’t be ruled out as Ralf Rangnick has tried to sign him at RB Leipzig in the past. The German manager is expected to lead the Rossoneri’s imminent youth revolution and could thus complicate Leicester’s plans.
