Ismael Bennacer is about to seal a deadline day move away from AC Milan as a deal has been agreed with Marseille, reports claimed.
Earlier this morning it emerged that Marseille had repeated exactly what they did in the last summer transfer window: submitting a bid for Bennacer right at the end of the mercato, and hoping that the player would push.
A report earlier today from Calciomercato.com even claimed that the situation had provoked ‘tension’. Milan were unhappy with the timing of the approach and that Bennacer made it clear he wanted to leave, with little time left to find a replacement.
Now, Fabrizio Romano has given the Bennacer to Olympique Marseille deal his famous ‘here we go!’ stamp. A verbal agreement in place with Milan over a €1m loan fee plus an €12m option to buy clause which is not mandatory.
There will be €3m in potential bonuses which would take the total package to €16m. Bennacer has been pushing a lot today to join the Ligue 1 club after talks with Pablo Longoria and Mehdi Benatia, the directors for l’OM.
In the meantime, Milan are believed to be lining up Warren Bondo of Monza as his replacement, with an agreement apparently close on that front.
Talk about forcing your way out. He will be a new signing for Marseille next season as well.
Wow, the team was much better with him available.
I understand he struggled with injuries but at least get a good player to replace him, this management is a complete miss.
He asked to go and has been pushing for a move away for almost 1 year now. We shouldn’t keep players that don’t want to be here.
They are bringing in muscle to replace whatever Bennacer uses to be…. Not sure what you don’t like …
Good riddance.
Now we can stop reading his fanboys talking about how they can’t wait for him to get healthy, get in shape, stop being fat and get back to his scudetto form (when he was a backup btw), how he is Milan’s best midfielder and other delusional nonsense.
5.5 years at Milan, he was good for only 6 months in 2020. After that, he was either injured, out of shape, fat, or trash with a good game sprinkled once every 2 months.
And they will be getting almost what they paid for him.
Too bad they didn’t ship him out in the summer
💯 Great Move. I’m glad they made it happen in the dying hours …
Clearly you either have not followed Milan for long or just don’t understand football at all. Basically everything you have said is false
In a team lacking midfielders this is a big loss. Despite your unjustified hatred for him he has been finding form and fitness including playing a big part in our goal v Inter at the wknd.
Hardly the time to loan him out and certainly not for 1m!!
Hey, *ss h*le, show some respect. He scored some important goal in that scudetto season. I get it that you don’t like him, but he never made problem while at Milan, never misbehaved. So drain your hatred elsewhere.
Sorry with all my respect without him Milan will never has a chance to win the title a few years ago and he still a better player than the Milan midfielder players at the moment
He has barely played since the Scudetto season, and he it’s 3 years on he has missed 100 matches since 20/21. That’s 3 seasons of matches. Better of with someone that’s actually available.
Best comment! Totally agree!
Bennacer, Okafor, Morata, Calabria out. Walker, Felix, Gimenez in so far. Lots of activity. Seems pretty positive for Milan.
No one knows they will become good or trash. I will just wait and see how they play. You guys were excited too once okafor, chuk, RLC joined us, and know everyone here want them to be sold. I dont want us to be other man U. The most important thing is we need a proper management like inter, they know serie a, and are doing good in europe.
Yeah so we keep the good ones (Tijji, Puli) and ship out the trash ones. I’m sure not all these additions will work, but I can promise you some of them will. And then we can continue to build in the summer. If you’re not optimistic right now there’s no helping you.
What a Disaster of club. my goodness. what kind of people are running this milan. shame on them.
Oh well. Well would have made more sense at this stage of the window to keep the teams most established midfielders but if a player is pushing this hard then they should be allowed to go.
This site often rate him at 50 million. But his price could go up a bit if he stays fit in the next 6 months. Marseille did dirty by agreeing with player first.
He is only 27 yrs old. If he wanted to leave for some reason, that’s fine, but Milan shouldn’t have let him go for this cheap and in this way. If I remember well, he was wanted from some clubs in Saudi Arabia and they offered a lot of money just a year ago. Milan management basically donated him to OM and they will later sell him for huge money to some club from Saudi Arabia.
However, I am not happy to see him leave. Even though he was injured quite often, he contributed a lot when he was healthy. Thank you Ismael and goodluck wherever your career may take you!
What is going on at this club?
Why is another senior player forcing his way out?
Bennacer is back contributing and the only intelligent CM we have and he is going on loan for 1m!!!
We are getting another young runner like Musah to replace him in Bondo.
Very concerning times.
We will have as many players on loan as we do in the club
We needed Benny and we needed another midfielder but of course this management create as many holes as they fill.
He was also a leader and one of the last remaining scudetto winners, its disappointing.
I don’t get it either. I don’t understand why people are so quick to dismiss these players or disrespect them a they do. Yes Benny is injured more often than not and while I don’t mind his transfer away (simply due to him being too injured too often) it doesn’t mean ANY replacement is automatically better than him. At least replace with the same or better quality. Right now we have Musah 2.0 and in 6-12 months time my money is on us looking to offload him. It’s not a like for like quality swap.
Last of the good mids we had from the Scudetto are gone, for this cheap I think this was a mistake I doubt Bondo is going to be a good replacement but let’s see.
I read some news that ACM will reject this transfer but well club dont want to keep unhappy player that forcing to leave. Good luck there in your new club marseille and i hope marseille wont return him or asking discount in summer for him
