Sergio Conceicao, Head Coach of AC Milan

CorSera: ‘New Milan, old problems’ – Conceicao ‘furious’ and waiting for mercato help

Despite the changes from Stefano Pioli to Paulo Fonseca, and now to Sergio Conceicao, AC Milan still have the same problems it seems.

The issue over the past few years has been consistency. Whichever region you look at, it normally can be traced back to that word. Injuries? Milan have consistently had to deal with a weaker squad. Mercato? The Rossoneri have made some poor choices consistently.

The big one, of course, is results. Which again, have been consistently poor.

Over the spells of the three managers, there have been some impressive and monumental victories, that much is a given. However, they have regularly been left to the side due to everything else.

As Corriere della Sera (via Milan News) writes, the mistakes are the same and the results and performances are consistently inconsistent. Sergio Conceicao was left ‘furious’ after the weekend’s defeat and has made confessions about the team’s quality to those close to him.

Now, he needs mercato help, as the report suggests, and unfortunately, across the pitch, reinforcements are required. In defence, Kyle Walker is set to arrive, whilst another midfielder is still being observed.

Leading the line, Joao Felix’s name has been regularly thrown about, but time is running out to improve a ‘new Milan’ that still have the ‘old problems’.

  1. PROPER reinforcements will arrive as soon as cardinale sells and the three clowns below him are shown the door. Until then its just the old buy and see what sticks strategy.

    1. Signing Walker is key, basically having a right back Theo clone. We are no threat from the back on the counter other than Theo. The strategies have evolved to offense blitzkrieg with overwhelming speed and strength.

  2. Well, you can’t buy players for an imaginary limit you created to pay less and expect better. That is how it is at Milan, with Ibrahimovic leading the clown pack.

  3. Today is 20th and not a single reinforcement yet, management’s body language not encouraging at all. It’s glaring we need reinforcement, depth in this team. Is conceicao not ringing up these guys to remind them we need players and quality one at that cause I’m not getting what’s going on.

  4. Antonio Conte was available and very ready for the position instead we opted for Paulo Fonseca…that’s a shitty decision decision if you ask me…

  5. Maldini was sacked for stating this dialogue. Still, the American(s) choses to be ignorant towards facts and the responsibility of running a football club.
