Alexis Saelemaekers Milan

Schira: Milan standing firm over Saelemaekers despite Roma attempts – the offer so far

Alexis Saelemaekers is a really intriguing player with an interesting position. Whilst AC Milan were reluctant to keep him last summer, they are now looking to keep hold of the Belgian.

Despite requests from Paulo Fonseca, Milan decided that Saelemaekers would be better spending this season away from the club on loan at Roma. However, the winger extended his contract with the club beforehand, offering the Rossoneri more security.

Unfortunately for the Belgian, he suffered an injury in the early stages of the season, which left him sidelined for almost half of the season, but now he is flying in Rome, becoming vital to their recent rise up the table.

As a result, the Roman club have already begun to make attempts to keep the wide player at the club and discussions have taken place, but it seems the Diavolo are not willing to agree to anything just yet.

On his X, Nicolo Schira states that the Giallorossi have already made ‘swap’ bid turned down (which imaginably included Tammy Abraham or Bryan Cristante) by the Rossoneri. Instead of a swap, Milan are seeking a straight transfer of €20 million.

Although nothing has been agreed, Claudio Ranieri’s side have already got a contract on the table for the winger.

  1. If they are smart they wouldnt do a deal. Bring him back next season for Chukaweze. He is ready and is proving it. The goal he scored was superb showing he has the confidence now to spend his best years at milan.

  2. I think it will come down to the coaching situation at Milan, which in turn won’t be known until June. If Conceicao, or his replacement, asks for Salad, he could return. I think he would be a good defensive counterweight to our more attacking options. He’s got high work rate, which will be appreciated by Conceicao. If we end up keeping Sottil and Leao, and selling Chukwueze, he would also solve the need to buy a winger.

  3. He is like a 9 months old untrained puppy.
Runs around everywhere in the house and occasionally pees on the carpet. Then looks at you for a treat.

  4. You think this ownership will let capital gains from this deal slip away? They don’t care if the coach wants him. They’ll just instruct Moncada to find a new cheap version of him, who will need a year or two to adjust and by then they’ll send him away like they did with Saele. It’s a pattern with this clowns.

  5. Return him and sell chukwu. Salad can become defensive winger. But that also depend on player will. If he want go to Rome then so be it
