GdS: Milan striker Giroud at risk of missing Tottenham clash with flu

By Euan Burns -

AC Milan could be without main striker Olivier Giroud on Wednesday against Tottenham Hotspur as the Frenchman did not train on Monday due to the flu, a report claims.

As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, the French striker was not at Milanello with the rest of the team on Monday afternoon because he is suffering from the flu.

That has immediately made supporters worry that he will not be healthy enough to play in the huge Champions League round of 16 match against Tottenham. Stefano Pioli is expected to still take Giroud to London anyway and hope that he can make a swift recovery.

The club will be training on Tuesday morning at Milanello before they travel to London, so that is when the final decision will need to be taken. The situation is the same for Brahim Diaz who is a doubt due to his knee injury.

  1. Perhaps its a blessing in disguise.
We are going to be under pressure and will need to be running hard, no passengers.
So might be better having Rebic as striker

  2. Once again it will have to be Theo and Leao doing something special, or pure luck. We can also bet that Pioli will play very defensively, which might work but it’s very risky. But at least we have Mike back.
