Milan target set for Bundesliga playouts to determine release clause amount – the scenarios

By Nikita Fesyukov -

Not long ago, Gianluca Di Marzio reported that Ralf Rangnick has put Werder Bremen’s Milot Rashica on his list of desired players at AC Milan. Today, Rashica and his teammates secured a place in the Bundesliga playouts which will play a key role in the winger’s future.

Werder Bremen defeated Koln 6-1 today and thanks to Fortuna Dusseldorf’s defeat against Union Berlin the club avoided direct relegation from the Bundesliga and will play in the playouts against either Hamburg or Heidenheim.

And this matchup will have direct implications also on the transfer market, as Rashica is one of Werder’s stars and most-desired players, with Milan being only one of several suitors.

But it goes even further because Rashica has a €38 million release clause in his contract which, however, will drop to €15 million in case Werder Bremen are relegated from the Bundesliga, as reported by Sport Bild (via bulinews.com)

Thus said, Milan will observe the Bundesliga playouts with a particular interest, as Bremen’s relegation could offer them the opportunity to give Rangnick a gift for a very affordable price.
