AC Milan have not made any steps forward recently in talks over the renewal of Rafael Leao’s contract, according to a report.
Tuttosport (via PianetaMilan) took stock of the situation regarding the negotiation for the renewal of Leao’s deal with Milan given that his current one expires in June 2024 meaning a crossroads of sorts is arriving for the Serie A MVP for last season
. For the Turin newspaper, at the moment, the negotiations between the Via Aldo Rossi club and the Lusitanian attacker’s entourage have not undergone either sensational steps forward or strong steps backwards.
A stalemate remains at the moment between Paolo Maldini, Ricky Massara and the entourage of Leao which inevitably must undergo a turning point over the next few weeks. Leao, for the moment, is concentrated on the field and his goal is to return to being decisive as he was at the start of the season.
Milan’s current offer is a €6.5m net per season salary plus bonuses which is over quadruple the €1.5m plus bonuses he earns at the moment.

Yuh. Should have happened last summer though, for real money. With one year left we’ll be lucky to get 60-70m. And maybe good ole Rafa will decide to “honor” his contract and leave for free in 2024. Yay.

Get rid of leao this coming summer. Milan management has been more than kind to him but he never seems happy and wants more.
Perhaps he will play more than 10 minutes each match with his new team!!!!
