Milan 3-0 Inter: Match Ratings

By Ahmed Khalifa -

Starting XI:

7 – Donnarumma: The youngest player to play in the derby at 16 years and 11 months, Gigio made some great saves throughout the match. The youngster got a bit nervous and made a few errors in the second half, but he performed well and earned himself a well-deserved clean sheet.

6 – Abate: As usual, Ignazio was running up and down the right flank trying to make those runs to crossing positions. He hasn’t been too effective, but has caused trouble at the back for Juan Jesus.

8 – Alex: The Brazilian veteran was pretty solid and got the first goal against our rivals with a fine header. He gave away a silly penalty which fortunately was missed by Mauro Icardi.

8 – Romagnoli: Bossing the defense, the young Italian center back is full of confidence. He read the game so well and was a wall at the back.

7 – Antonelli: The left-back had a shaky start and looked a bit clumsy, but then got into the game and started to cause problems for Santon and stopping the Inter attack from getting through.

7 – Honda: Keisuke hasn’t really had his head in the game from the start but eventually got into it and made a few key passes including a wonderful cross finding Alex for the first goal. Good performance from the Japanese midfielder.

8 – Kucka (MOTM): Juraj was full of energy and running all over the field. He was an engine in the midfield and contributed to attacking and defending.

6 – Montolivo: Riccardo wasn’t our most dynamic player but he was making some good passes and defensive moves.

7 – Bonaventura: Once again, Giacomo was one of our most important players moving the play and creating goal scoring opportunities as well as helping out defensively. He caused problems for the Inter defense and midfield with his clever moves.

8 – Bacca: Wonderful performance from Carlos. The Colombian gave it his all and got a goal to reward his performance. Could be a bit more serious at times and goes down a bit too easily, but makes up for it with his passion and performances.

7 – Niang: As he has in recent matches, Niang made a few questionable and unnecessary decisions during the match. Although, he has gotten himself a goal and an assist with a delicious cross.

Substitutes:

N/A – Balotelli: We would’ve loved to see Super Mario bag a goal against his former club and our rivals but he didn’t have much time to do so as he came on late in the second half. Nonetheless, he has done well and showboated a bit of skill, infuriating the rival players.

N/A – Bertolacci: Andrea came on late in the second half and hasn’t made much of an impact in the game.

N/A – Boateng: Kevin-Prince’s introduction into the game was deep into the second half and he hasn’t done much other than one moment of skill by the touchline.
