This season has been a struggle ever since the first game and after yesterday’s defeat against Torino, the numbers are damning. In fact, AC Milan have registered their worst points tally in the last five seasons.
Milan wanted to bounce back after the Champions League exit with a much-needed win against Torino. However, Il Toro took the lead early on after a gift from Mike Maignan and the Rossoneri missed many chances after that, including a Christian Pulisic penalty.
Tijjani Reijnders eventually found the equaliser but a new mistake at the back led to a winner for Torino just minutes later. As such, Sergio Conceicao and his men came away with zero points and taking a look at the last five seasons, it’s their worst points tally after 25 games.
Milan’s points tallies after 25 games
- 2020-21: 53 points
- 2021-22 (Scudetto): 55 points
- 2022-23: 42 points
- 2023-24: 52 points
- 2024-25: 41 points
The tally for 2022-23 isn’t a whole lot better, as you can see, but at least then Milan had made it through to the knockout stages of the Champions League (reaching the semi-finals).
Bologna are up next and Milan will need to put in a very good performance. As stated by Tijjani Reijnders after yesterday’s defeat, they need to show that they actually have quality in the team, as opposed to just talking about it all the time.
This is a result in a change management. No stability, next players will give up on the project. Letting Maldini go was wrong decision. The Man know what he is doing and we won Serie A & did well the CL. IBRA is great player but I dont see him in this role. We a need a good manager , good directors that understand how to build at team.
“We are still rebuilding the team, need to be patient.” (™)
Only need 7-8 new starters to be complete. 🙂
Gerry’s era booking yet another great record. Way to go👏
This is a complete fabrication. We are “much much better” than last year, oops I meant the year before, oops I meant the year before that… ooops I’m running out of ooops.
Keep in mind, this is after 250 million invested. The previous low tally (42), was acheived after Milan lost Kessie and Romagnoli, were given only 50 million to invest, went through an injury crisis, and were still competing in the CL (ultimately reaching the semis).
