With the Serie A Femminile season now over for another year, an important summer awaits for AC Milan. We have the latest news and tidbits.
➤ Valentina Bergamaschi was named the AIC’s Women’s Footballer of The Month. In the organization’s words, Bergamaschi was awarded the honor, not only for her goal-scoring abilities, but for her tactical intelligence, “which puts the team first and comes through in the most difficult moments, and turns into runs in the channels, vertical passes, offensive crosses, and a certain ability to add variety to the defense.”
➤ Valentina Bergamaschi, Martina Piemonte, Laura Giuliani, and Laura Fusetti have all been summoned by Italy CT, Milena Bertolini, to a preliminary group for the upcoming Women’s Euros. The tournament will take place between July 6–31 in England.
➤ Laura Fusetti was recently honoured by Milan for reaching the milestone of having played 100 games for the team. She was also awarded a special shirt to commemorate the occasion by club legend, Franco Baresi. You can read all about Fusetti and her affection for Baresi here.
