Former AC Milan sporting director, Massimiliano Mirabelli, has opened up to the media once again, and this time he spoke about how he regrets not signing Aubameyang.
“It’s a pity that our project didn’t continue, it only lasted 15 months. I wanted to have more time and more transfer windows available. It’s hard when you only have two windows.
“Aubameyang? We were in close contact with the player but eventually, we didn’t manage to sign him. He is one of my favourite strikers and it’s a pity that we couldn’t end negotiations, it’s one of my biggest regrets,” he concluded.
Mirabelli tried to sign the striker from Borussia Dortmund but the German side refused to budge on their high price tag, which along with the player’s wage demands led to Milan dropping the negotiations.
