MN: The mixed fortunes of Milan’s World Cup stars

The 2022 Qatar World Cup has come to a close and that means that Milan can finally assess how their stars performed overall in football’s biggest competition.

As has been analysed by Milan News, it was a very mixed tournament for the Milan representatives of which there was seven. Overall though, it must be viewed as fairly successful.

They might not feel it right now, but Olivier Giroud and Theo Hernandez can be the happiest as they reached the final with France and Giroud managed to score four goals. Hernandez also got a goal in the semi-final against Morocco.

Sergino Dest can be happy with his performances for the USA as they reached the knockout stages, whilst Rafael Leao would have liked to go further with Portugal but he did score twice.

Fode Ballo-Toure will be pleased that Senegal reached the round of 16 but he missed the group stage through injury.

It was not a good tournament for Simon Kjaer and Charles De Ketelaere as both Denmark and Belgium respectively were knocked out in the group stages.
