ML: Milan’s probable line-up against Crotone – one doubt for coach Pioli in Ibrahimovic’s absence

By Nikita Fesyukov -

AC Milan are preparing for their next matchup in what is a tough start to the campaign. Stefano Pioli’s men will face Crotone tomorrow away from home and the coach seems convinced to rely on almost the same team as in the last three matches.

In the defence, Pioli has little to choose from, as Kjaer and Gabbia are the only centre-backs at his disposal, while Theo Hernandez and Calabria offer the necessary guarantees.

The same goes for the midfield duo, as Sandro Tonali is still not in the best physical condition and should find space in the second half to grow further. Franck Kessie and Ismael Bennacer will feature in the middle of the field.

Ante Rebic will return to the line-up, but the exact position he will play in is still uncertain, as Pioli is considering whether to field him as a striker instead of Zlatan Ibrahimovic or in his natural position on the left-wing, as reported by Milanlive.it.

If the Croatian will play in his natural role, then Lorenzo Colombo will be confirmed as the starting attacker. In the opposite case, Alexis Saelemaekers would start on the left side of the attack, with Samu Castillejo and Hakan Calhanoglu completing the trident.

Probable Milan XI vs. Crotone (4-2-3-1):

G. Donnarumma; Calabria, Gabbia, Kjaer, Theo Hernandez; Kessie, Bennacer; Castillejo, Calhanoglu, Rebic; Colombo (Saelemaekers).
