MN: Background on Milan’s new target for the No.10 role – from PSG debut to Bordeaux breakthrough

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are continuing to search for valuable reinforcements for the core of their squad and Yacine Adli of Bordeaux has become a target, a report claims.

MilanNews writes that the management are looking to keep an eye on some young talents who can play as attacking midfielders, such as Adli, but it will not be easy to get to him because the request of the Ligue 1 club is around €10m. Despite this, Paolo Maldini and co. like him a lot and therefore he should not be removed from the list of options.

Adli grew up in the youth sector of PSG before making his first team debut in May 2018 at the age of 17 years, 9 months and 20 days. He went to Bordeaux for €5.5m in 2019 after finding less opportunities, and that is where his breakthrough happened as he made 69 appearances (in all competitions) in two and a half years, gaining the attention of several top clubs such as Milan, Tottenham, Arsenal and Lille.

He can cover practically all roles in the middle of the field and he has been compared to Adrien Rabiot, but compared to the Juventus player he has more attacking characteristics. Bordeaux coach Vladimir Petkovic deployed him as an attacking midfielder in a 4-2-3-1 in the first game of this season, which is worth noting.
