MN: Bartesaghi not called up for Milan vs. Juve – Jimenez the replacement

By Isak Möller -

Davide Bartesaghi has been left out of the AC Milan squad for the game against Juventus this evening. The youngster, by the looks of it, has picked up an injury and that’s why Alex Jimenez has been called up.

The news about Jimenez’s inclusion first broke yesterday afternoon and appeared to be a safety measure given Theo Hernandez’s suspension. However, it now looks like he will be the main left-back deputy for tonight’s clash.

According to MilanNews, Bartesaghi has been left out of the squad and will be evaluated in the coming days. The report didn’t specify whether it’s an injury or illness, but nevertheless he will not be available tonight. (Update: Ankle discomfort).

In total, Milan have eight absences for the big clash and this is far from ideal. There’s no doubt that the Rossoneri improved their depth this summer as despite these absences, there are just two positions that are ‘subpar’ (goalkeeper and left-back).

Suspended: Maignan and Hernandez.
Injured: Bennacer, Caldara, Chukwueze, Loftus-Cheek, Sportiello, Bartesaghi.
