MN: Caldara bids farewell to team-mates at Milanello as Spezia move is imminent

By Oliver Fisher -

Mattia Caldara did not take part in today’s friendly match against Lemine Almenno and has in fact said goodbye to his team-mates ahead of his exit.

MilanNews confirms that Caldara’s future is further and further away from Milan. The Rossoneri centre-back was not present for the game against Lemine Almenno at Milanello this afternoon, and he actually said farewell to his team-mates at the training complex.

That is because a move to Spezia is now imminent, as Caldara will head out for the third time after loan spells at Atalanta and Venezia, thus meaning his number of appearances for Milan will stay at two.

La Gazzetta dello Sport are reporting that Milan will be paying half of the Italian defender’s current salary as part of the deal. The negotiation appears to have concluded for the move and the player will move on loan for one season and there is an option for Spezia to make the deal permanent for €3m at the end of the campaign.

  1. He doesn’t want to stay at Milan. He’s never had luck with staying here and wants the move away because 1. He plays and 2. He’s not injured there. He has an interview out saying as much
