MN: Contacts underway between Milan and Mirante – the likely contract length

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan have initiated contacts with the 38-year-old veteran Antonio Mirante as a result of Mike Maignan’s injury. In fact, it seems they are already at an advanced stage and a positive conclusion seems likely.

Maignan will undergo surgery tomorrow (Wednesday) as he’s suffering from wrist pain and only afterwards will we know the full extent. However, it’s been established that he will miss at least 10-15 days.

Milan have Ciprian Tatarusanu as their backup goalkeeper but the Romanian hasn’t exactly impressed loads with the red and black shirt. Therefore, Milan are in talks with the entourage of Mirante, who is currently a free agent.

The 38-year-old played for Roma last season and the negotiations are over a one-year deal, with the option to extend it for one more year, per MilanNews. Given the time sensitivity, it’s possible that we could see this deal materialise in the next few days.

  1. This doesn’t make sense, they should give tatarusanu the same confidence that has been given to other players
Last year too he made a mistake against roma but after that he has good matches

  2. I like Mirante a lot better than Tatarusanu but please explain why we need him when we have Plizzari?? Are we going to let this talent rot and not develop?? Wtf….

  3. Tatarusanu is decent. I don’t like the insults against him. My question is why didn’t Mike have his surgery before being called up for France to sit on the bench. His recovery would be almost complete by now.
