MN: Donnarumma wants to stay at Milan – Rangnick could be decisive

By Isak Möller -

Many AC Milan fans are worried that Gigio Donnarumma will part ways with the club when his contract expires next summer. This is a fear that the owners also share, considering how important the goalkeeper is.

According to MilanNews.it, there haven’t been any contacts between CEO Ivan Gazidis and agent Mino Raiola about the renewal, although they have discussed other players. In spite of this, Donnarumma wants to stay at the club.

Raiola considers the youngster one of the best goalkeepers in the world – which we can only agree on – and would like him to play on the big stages like the Champions League. Gigio, on the other hand, would like to do it with the Milan shirt.

Therefore, the contacts between the parties could be less ‘heated’ than expected, although on some conditions. The first is to not lower Donnarumma’s salary, considering how important he has been in recent years.

The second is the need for a serious and convincing project, which is why the arrival of Ralf Rangnick could be a positive factor. On this basis, the negotiations could be fast and would also result in the permanence of Antonio Donnarumma.
