MN: Giampaolo gives Milan players day off after Fiorentina defeat

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan boss Marco Giampaolo has given his players the day off after Sunday night’s defeat to Fiorentina, it is claimed.

The pressure on Giampaolo is increasing after another disastrous evening at San Siro, this time losing 3-1 and being completely outplayed by Vincenzo Montella’s Fiorentina.

According to MilanNews.it, Giampaolo have given his squad a day off, with training ahead of the weekend’s trip to Genoa to restart on Tuesday 1 October.

After a fourth defeat in six, this season represents the worst start to a Serie A campaign for the Rossoneri since 1938, and speculation is rife that the head coach could be sacked soon.

Vito Angele confirmed to us that Giampaolo’s position is under threat, with three possible temporary solutions being considered.

Andriy Shevchenko ‘could become more of an idea’ to take overTMW claimed, while La Gazzetta dello Sport stated on Monday there are as many as five names who could end up taking the job.
