MN: Giroud’s first day leaves positive impressions – Pioli found him motivated

By Oliver Fisher -

Olivier Giroud underwent his first training session as a new Milan player yesterday, and the early signs that filter are reportedly very positive.

As MilanNews reports, the Frenchman trained for the first time with the Rossoneri after signing his contract on July 17 and being given an extended holiday due to his participation in the European Championships with France.

He is now back in Italy and started training under the orders of Stefano Pioli on Tuesday. The first impressions are good as the report described Giroud as being ‘a very motivated player’ who is looking forward to a new adventure, and he was welcomed in the best way by the rest of the group.

Fikayo Tomori played with him at Chelsea, Mike Maignan in the French national team, while Theo Hernandez, Ismael Bennacer, Alexis Saelemaekers and Fode Ballo-Tourè all speak the same language as well as others like Franck Kessie and Pierre Kalulu.

He will play a few minutes against Nice, ready for his official debut with the No.9 shirt. In the meantime, Zlatan Ibrahimovic is working hard and hopes to return to the squad for the first league match.
