MN: Ibrahimovic undergoes knee surgery – how long the striker is expected to be out

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic is set to be out of action for two months as he has undergone surgery on his knee, a report claims.

A statement on the club’s official website confirmed that Ibrahimović underwent arthroscopic surgery of the left knee at the UPMC Salvator Mundi International Hospital in Rome. The Swede damaged his knee in Milan’s win over Juventus last month, which sparked fears as to whether he could be set for another long spell away from the game.

According to the latest from Antonio Vitiello of MilanNews, Ibrahimovic’s recovery times after today’s surgery are not too extreme. It is estimated that after 4 weeks he will return to being able to run and after 8 weeks he should be able to play again. This could influence Milan’s plans on the market, given he may miss the opening couple of games if the club are cautious about the recovery.
