The long-awaited first meeting at Milanello between Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Stefano Pioli and the entire AC Milan team will not take place today as his first day on the job has been postponed.
In a statement published earlier in the week, RedBird Capital Partners confirmed that Ibrahimovic is back for a third spell at the club. He is their employee officially and will be the Operating Partner across its Sports and Media & Entertainment investment portfolio, but will also serve as a Senior Advisor to AC Milan Ownership and Senior Management.
He was meant to be at Milanello today to greet the team and the staff after their return from England yesterday, but according to what MilanNews have learned, the Swede will not in fact be present at the training ground.
Unfortunately Zlatan has come down with a case of the flu and thus he will not put anyone at risk by coming in to Milanello given the risk of starting an outbreak. Whether he will be there tomorrow instead remains to be seen at the moment.
