Simon Kjaer was an absolute leader and a warrior for AC Milan during last night’s 2-1 win over Roma at the Stadio Olimpico.
It could have been more straightforward had Theo Hernandez not been sent off when Milan were 2-0 up thanks to goals from Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Franck Kessie, but the Rossoneri eventually withstood a tide of late pressure to emerge 2-1 winners.

The Dane has just signed an extension of his contract until 2024, and last night he showed all of his strength and wisdom to lead the team, standing tall even when Milan were a man down and really struggling to get on the ball. Not only is he a leader in experience but he is leading by example with his performances too, and he is showing that he was well worth his renewal.
