MN: Krunic leapfrogs Messias for Napoli clash – how Milan’s XI should look

By Isak Möller -

Rade Krunic could play from the first minute this evening as AC Milan will take on Napoli without Rafael Leao. This is the latest indication that has arrived as Stefano Pioli has been pondering different solutions.

Tonight’s clash is an important one and it’s a shame that the Rossoneri will be without Leao. The Portuguese winger has been in good form lately and it will be hard to replace him, but Pioli has been evaluating different solutions throughout the week.

As per MilanNews, it looks like Krunic is now in pole position to replace Leao. It was initially reported that Saelemaekers would take on the role, with Junior Messias starting on the right, but it seems the Belgian will keep his right-wing spot.

Starting Krunic will perhaps give Milan a more balanced look, while he will be able to switch positions with Charles De Ketelaere more fluently. It could also give Theo Hernandez the opportunity to overlap more than usual.

Probable Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Calabria, Kalulu, Tomori, Theo; Bennacer, Tonali; Saelemaekers, De Ketelaere, Krunic; Giroud.

  1. “Probable” lineup but sure Kossy bash the coach for something not even made official yet. Classy milan fans around on the web.

      1. Well you can argue that kossy is one of those in his own categories complaining and rambling all day long but take a quick look at half the posts on this site and the majority of twitter posts people puts forward on the web are from idiots and it seems contagious from the looks of it. No malice towards you though but even if what i said is an unpopular opinion i’ll stand by my words.

  2. Kossy underated Krunic.i could remember this Krunic was the only standout player against Liverpool at San siro last season.Krunic has something special take it or leave it.

  3. Look at the word PROBABLE Line up and it’s mean not an OFFICIAL, even if it’s official, the coach who bring Milan into Scudetto is understand better the team situation than you, toxic fans..

  4. Bro it’s not about being delusional, it’s more like you not knowing how to voice your opinion without unnecessary streams of invective. Fine! If I were to agree with you that Pioli is an idiot, I think it’s fair to say the idiot won us our first scudetto in how many years while you the wise man has won what? How difficult can it be to air your opinion without the insult? It’s not as if this is the official lineup. What’s disturbing is the fact that you don’t seem to care that you’re irritating people with your comments.

  5. Not really the question whether he should start as thats more about personal preferences but the fact that you have the audacity to bash pioli for a potential lineup calling him lucky when he has the best stats since capello was the coach and who had some of the best teams this club has ever mustered in its entire history.
You on the other hand sits here and complain bashing our coach and players consistently while you are pretty much the equivalent to a magician pulling out turds from your hat instead of rabbits.
Surely your point of views are of great value….sigh

  6. Makes sense. Cant field all the forwards from the start. Rade will hold his own, he always does imao, despite the haters. P.S maybe some of you should consider supporting the players that wear the red&black insted of bashing them. my 2 cents

  7. “we all know that krunic is just that average player who will run and run for the team but doesn’t contribute anything going forward”

You definitely never watch Krunic plays.

He scored with a superb free kick against Verona back in 2021.

In the last season match against Sassuolo, Krunic plays very solid and contributes for the 3rd goal. Here’s the review for Krunic performance by sempremilan:

“Krunic (7.5): Another very strong performance from the Bosnian and it was the right decision to start him. He did tremendously well with the high pressing and was behind the third goal.”

I’m baffled with how you can say people are delusional and claim Krunic never contributes anything going forward, when you’re the one who’s delusional.

You need a mirror and stop acting like you’re a genius.

  8. Even if it’s the official line-up, we only have wait and see how the formation aligned holds against Napoli and how Krunic plays and contributes in the game , then we can judge him or the coach for the choice. Remember he is the coach and know the players because he’s with them every day on and outside the field. He won the scudeto last year when most of us fans didn’t even think we could and always insulted the coach, players and the management for wanted to distroy Milan and couldn’t win anything. Stop whining, watch the team and support them or give the real Milan fans a chance to appreciate and enjoy their team and players because they all have a part to play. You think Inter and Juventus have better players and coach, go support them!

  9. “This trash doesn’t work”
    “just lucky coach”

You sound like a salty Inter fans. I’ve seen them keeps saying Milan and Pioli are lucky to win scudetto.

I never believe a single inch that you’re a Milan fans though, with how you keeps mocking Milan and what Maldini, Pioli, and the team did over these past 3 years.

  10. for the first time, people are speaking up against that lil trash, everyone is entitled to his opinion, however if you dont agree with others’ , why insult, no comment goes by from the tramp, without insulting people in general, krunic may not be that “smashing guy”, but you cant ever take it away from him that our last 3-4 matches b4 winning the scudetto, the man gave his all for milan and it doesnt make sense starting our 2 right wingers, who comes in for messias in 2nd half? i personally would have prefered diaz being played on the wings, he did it well against juve and torino last season or rather play a diff formation, 3421, to accomodate the absence of our strong winger
