Just a few days ago, the deal seemed as good as done. However, the tables have turned and Ibrahimovic’s return to Milan is now more complicated, which is due to LA Galaxy.
According to MilanNews.it, the main reason behind the slight stop is the resistance of LA Galaxy, who are not very keen on letting go of their star for free. Ibrahimovic still has a year left on his contract and the club is, in fact, pushing for a renewal.
AC Milan have already reached an agreement with the Swede, though the issue remains in getting him without charge from the American side. Gattuso has recently clarified that: “Ibra didn’t offer himself to Milan, but it is us that are looking for him”, which confirms that the Rossoneri are not behind the stop.
The arrival of Gazidis is not seen as a braking factor in the deal either, and only after the UEFA sentence will Milan know how to proceed.
