AC Milan are more focused on signing a new defender than a striker at the moment, according to one journalist.
It is now well-known that Milan are in the market for a new centre-back having failed to sign one during the summer, with a number of different targets being linked.
Antonio Vitiello shed more light on the situation in his latest for MilanNews, claiming that the club’s priority is to sign a new central defender during the January window at the moment rather than a deputy to Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
The market will always change according to the opportunities that present themselves, but the management are focusing on signing another defender who can come in for Romagnoli and Kjaer, especially the latter who is playing practically every game and also because Musacchio and Duarte could both leave before next season.
In terms of names on the wish list, Schalke’s Ozan Kabak, Hellas Verona’s Matteo Lovato, Strasbourg’s Mohamed Simakan and also Fiorentina’s Nikola Milenkovic remain the most followed names.
Milenkovic is continuing to refuse a renewal and the Rossoneri are attentive to every development, but for the moment Kabak is the most likely option.
