MN: Leao berated by Pioli, Donnarumma and other team-mates during Genoa win – what was said

By Oliver Fisher -

Rafael Leao suffered the wrath of his team-mates during Sunday’s 2-1 win over Genoa, in particular Gianluigi Donnarumma.

As Pietro Mazzara writes in his latest for MilanNews, Leao – for the umpteenth time – failed to provide convincing evidence that he can be a centre-forward despite the convictions of Maldini and Massara and the reports suggesting that the club might not sign a new striker if he shows he can play there.

The lack of a crowd in the stadium allowed journalists to hear what was being said on the pitch, even up in the press box, and yesterday Leao was berated by Pioli, Donnarumma and other team-mates as per the report.

In particular, there was an incident in the first half when the Portuguese forward found himself alone in front of Perin but failed to make it 2-0. There was a unanimous chorus of curses and Donnarumma’s reproach from the opposite side of the pitch was echoed throughout the San Siro: “Score that f**king goal!”
