MN: Leao undegoes new scan on muscle injury – the results

By Oliver Fisher -

Rafael Leao underwent a new scan on his muscle injury this morning and it even though the feedback was positive, it remains unlikely he will play against Atalanta.

As reported by MilanNews, the MRI scan that the winger had today showed that the injury suffered in the match against Lecce has healed. Now the Portuguese will begin intensifying his workloads with the aim of returning to training with the rest of the squad.

Nonetheless, his recovery for the game against Atalanta on Saturday evening in Bergamo remains unlikely at this stage as there are no intentions of rushing things, as the player himself admitted last night.

It is also difficult to imagine that Simon Kjaer will be back for the weekend either. The Danish central defender began his re-athleticisation phase today and this means that he is a little ahead of Leao in his recovery time but he still remains in doubt.

For this reason it is very likely that Theo Hernandez will remain as a central defender on Saturday at the Gewiss Stadium.

  1. Just sell Simic, since Pioli will never use him. We’ll play Newcastle like this or with a non-match fit Kjaer in the middle.

    1. Simic isn’t available for the cl match against Newcastle utd. as he joined us august 25th last year so regardless whether Pioli would like to utilize him he isnt eligble.

      1. This does not make any sense whatsoever. The Primavera exists only for one aim and reason — provide players for the first team or to sell. And Simic should start. If not as CB than as RB to give Calabria the rest. This is plain bloody simple. But no. That will never happen until everyone is injured so we will field the primavera to play. Better Abatte to manage this team
