MN: Massara meets Kessie’s agent over renewal – no agreement found as pressure increases

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have not managed to find an agreement with Franck Kessie over the renewal of his contract and will need to raise their offer again.

MilanNews confirms earlier rumours stating that there was a new meeting between George Atangana – the agent of Franck Kessie – and sporting director Frederic Massara in Bologna last night. The result was not an agreement but rather further grey smoke, and new meetings with Milan will be necessary in order to iron out the final differences.

The management and ownership know that they cannot be defeated in this negotiation as the loss of both Gigio Donnarumma and Hakan Calhanoglu on free transfers have led some to question the choices made by those in charge of Milan.

Kessie must be renewed, otherwise the media and the fan base will scrutinise the Rossoneri for the loss of yet another crucial asset in their project. Given his deal expires in less than a year, action is needed.

  1. AC Milan > Donnarumma > Kessie > Chalhanoglu.

If Kessie doesn’t sign, it will be his fault alone & not Milan’s.

If he so desperately wants to follow the path of the others, I would absolutely not mind losing him on a free next summer.

      1. If that would be up to me, I would make it plain simple — either the signature is in place before the summer, either the player gets sold during this transfer window.

Why Chalhanoglu hasn’t been sold a year before his contract expired, as well as why Kessie & Romagnoli are still with the team? That is the question to the management.

  2. No other option but to sell. No one is bigger than the team. Lets sell and invest thr money.
That money could give us Insigne, Berardi, Vlasic and Bakayoko(obvíously using the loan formula)
