MN: Milan accelerate pursuit of Chelsea outcast in attempt to lower €30m price tag

By Isak Möller -

After completing the signing of Soualiho Meite, who could make his first appearance on Monday against Cagliari, Milan are now looking to bring in a centre-back. And Fikayo Tomori remains their first choice.

According to MilanNews.it, the Rossoneri are pushing to bring in the defender on loan with an option to buy. There is still some distance between Milan and Chelsea on the buy-out fee but the deal can still be closed.

The Blues would like €30m for Tomori but Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara are working to lower the price tag. Milan changed their strategy after the serious injury that Mohamed Simakan sustained and their first goal for the defence is now clear.

Tomori is a fast and technically skilled defender, able to play in both a three-man and four-man backline. The scouting department has monitored the player for quite some time and especially Massara is a big fan of him.
