MN: Milan can unlock deal for major target by selling €35m man

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan can ‘unlock’ the signing of Angel Correa from Atletico Madrid by selling a player to raise funds, a report claims.

The Rossoneri have already signed five players this summer: namely Theo Hernandez, Rade Krunic, Rafael Leao, Ismael Bennacer and most recently Leo Duarte.

However, the mercato is still in full swing, and Correa appears to be the final piece of the jigsaw that Paolo Maldini and the rest of the leadership are trying to put in place.

The Argentine is understood to be the primary target for Milan, with personal terms having already been agreed with the player but not a fee with Atleti.

According to MilanNews.it‘s Anto Vitiello, the club are working with ‘lights off’ on some important transfers.

His report claims that it has been made clear in meetings with Suso’s agent – Alessandro Lucci – that the club intends to listen to offers of €30-35m for the Spaniard.

Lyon are observing the player with ‘great interest’, while Roma are also in the running, and Milan are tempted by the fact that selling Suso would guarantee a full capital gain as he arrived for virtually nothing from Liverpool.

It would also allow Maldini and co. to go all out for Correa, who at this point remains the dream signing for the club between now and the end of the summer.

Not only have their been telephone contacts with Atletico, but also summits at the headquarters with his agent and intermediaries of the operation.

The Argentine is beginning to ‘force his hand’ to try and leave the Rojiblancos and move to the San Siro, however his arrival is not guaranteed as Milan do not need to force the issue – having already made five purchases
