MN: Milan captain Romagnoli could miss first two league games – the situation

By Isak Möller -

When some players left for international duty, and others stayed at Milanello for a few friendlies, Alessio Romagnoli continued to work on his recovery. The Milan captain could miss the first two league games, a report claims.

According to Antonio Vitiello of MilanNews.it, Romagnoli is still recovering from the injury he sustained at the end of July. The defender missed the last four games of the season and is now expected to miss the start of the new one.

If all goes as planned, the 25-year-old should be back in action towards the end of this month. The Rossoneri will face Bologna for the first game of the season, scheduled on the 21st and the second game (Crotone) will take place on the 27th.

Therefore, excluding a potential arrival from the transfer market, Simon Kjaer and Matteo Gabbia should be the centre-back duo at least for the first game. Of course, though, playing without their captain is a big loss.
