MN: Milan confident regarding Donnarumma and Calhanoglu – the latest on their renewals

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are working on two very important contract renewals in Gianluigi Donnarumma and Hakan Calhanoglu, according to a report.

As MilanNews notes, the urgency levels are rising with every passing week as from January both could sign a pre-contract and leave for free, given their deals expire in June 2021. However, Milan are positive and calm, and continue to be optimistic about the renewal of both.

Last year Calhanoglu amassed 11 goals and nine assists and this season across all competitions he already has four goals and three assists. That is precisely why he will likely ask for a big pay rise from the current €2.5m net per season.

Letting either player leave on a free would be an unforgivable mistake, but the management will try to reach an agreement with both as soon as possible over the next few weeks and as mentioned are optimistic.

The will of the two players is clear: they want to renew and stay at Milan for a long time. For the Rossoneri this is certainly an excellent starting point, but there are still issues to resolve such as salary, duration of contract and release clause which will not be speedy.
