MN: Milan make a definitive decision regarding left-back signing

AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli seems to have made a decision about who he will use as the deputy left-back for the coming season, a report claims.

As MilanNews reports, Milan have been trying to sell Fode Ballo-Toure this summer after two seasons with the club and use the money to sign a more functional left-back than him as deputy Theo Hernandez.

However, the fact that the Senegalese full-back has not accepted any of the offers that have come through to him which has complicated the plans of the management.

Geoffrey Moncada and Antonio D’Ottavio had identified Riccardo Calafiori as his replacement from FC Basel, but now it seems that the plans have changed entirely.

Pioli and his staff are very happy with what Davide Bartesaghi showed during preseason. He was taken on the tour of the United States and showed very positive signs, even if he did also play as a centre-back.

Alessandro Florenzi is also considered a possibility as deputy to Theo given his verastility.

  1. If Theo stays healthy and plays his best for 35 games, Florenzi and Davide Bartesaghi will be perfect options. If Theo is subpar or injured, then we are in trouble unless both replacements prove to be consistently able to be at their best.

It is a gamble, but if Florenzi can be healthy and play well, as he did prior to injuries, for 10 15 games, we will be perfectly fine.

  2. I hope this time we really give a young talent from our primavera to get a lot of minute in senior team…, There is no other more perfect time than performe in serie A for bartesaghi and jan simic…

    1. It propably wouldnt be many minutes but even if it means Bartesaghi would play 10-20 minutes here and there it could nevertheless be good for him and theo would also get his share of rest as well.

    1. Honestly. Calibra will cost us points if we don’t bench him. This in no time to risk him. Every point counts now. Teams have found out that his wing is the weak link to penetrate us and they will continue to exploit it

  3. For rb we have kalalu, to some extent he is way better than cala with crosses and tracking along the lines…we should remember he is also covering cb spots as well….if you play consistently you master the art. For Bart to be honest it’s risky he is way below experience but if he is included this will pay dividend in the long run……management should try to give him mins in matches which we feel safe during game…let boy absorb pressure and get accustom to match pressure and same goes for simic that cb who played in usa

    1. Kalulu would be starter but Calabria being Captain and being dropped maybe bad for moral

But I think we should let Kalulu be the starter and let him.know that we believe in him heighten his confidence

  4. That’s a big gamble. We need someone who plays first team football, and, in my opinion, a left-footed player. Injuries can come at any time; no guarantees for any player.

  5. calabria is one of the best rb in serie a, a fit calabria is very strong in one on ones. Better than any rb or Lb in italy.
