MN: Milan moving forward in negotiations with Giroud – bonuses being discussed

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan and Olivier Giroud are still in talks over a potential contract but things are moving in the right direction, a report claims.

MilanNews writes that Milan want Giroud and Giroud wants Milan, but the two parties are still defining the details of the deal that should see the Frenchman become a Rossoneri player until 2023. The 34-year-old striker, fresh off the back of winning the Champions League with Chelsea, received a fixed base of €4.5m net per season plus easily accessible bonuses that took it up to a potential €6m.

Taking into account that the salary cap that Milan has given itself is around €4m there is not much difference on the fixed part, but the parties are mainly working on bonuses. The negotiations are well underway, with Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara hoping to reach a full agreement in the shortest possible time, perhaps even before the European Championships.
