MN: Milan open to idea of potential loan spell for midfielder with three Serie A clubs keen

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are now considering loaning Tommaso Pobega out again as they look to bring in a new midfielder, according to a report.

The future of Pobega has come into question this summer as he returned after an excellent loan spell at Spezia, his first real experience playing consistent Serie A minutes. A number of hypotheses have been mentioned, including a new loan spell, a permanent sale or even that he may stay and become part of the rotations in midfield.

According to Antonio Vitiello of MilanNews, the Rossoneri management are indeed considering the possibility of a new loan spell for the 22-year-old, with three clubs interested. Sampdoria, Cagliari and Torino have all expressed an interest in signing Pobega, who could depart on a temporary basis if a new more natural defensive midfielder is signed.

The management know that playing time is crucial for Pobega at such a vital phase in his development.

  1. OK. So we haven’t learnt anything so far. Pessina, Locatelli, Hauge, Pobega… Nice. Let’s just ignore players with potential and buy Ilicic, Bakayoko, James.

  2. So we’re going to take a guy that had a great season last year, really wants to be at Milan this year, is fighting hard in preseason, and is already adapting to Pioli’s crappy 2 man mid system and doing great at it, and loan him?? To bring in Bakayoko?? Wow… club is full of clowns

    1. Pioli “two crappy mid” system was the one who put Milan qualified for Champions League after 7 years absence. So STFU like you know everything about football.

  3. Milan upbring and prepare good players so that others reap the benefits. Pobega is already showing great maturaty and football. If he formed part of any other big club the message would be clear, this bloke is unselable, thank you.

  4. This is ridiculous. Management has to figure it out – don’t waste the money on another import. Keep the Italians, especially Italians who scored 6 goals for Spezia and can destroy attacks without the dumb fouls.
