MN: Milan ready to make a new attempt to sign Ligue 1 defender in January – the details

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are expected to make a new attempt to sign Strasbourg defender Mohamed Simakan once the transfer window reopens, a report claims.

Calciomercato.com recently reported how Milan are still keen on the idea of signing Simakan when the window reopens in January, with the asking price of Strasbourg still around the €20m mark.

The Rossoneri were heavily linked with a move for Simakan towards the end of the summer window and his agent even confirmed to us that his client had agreed terms over a five-year deal.

According to the latest from MilanNews, the demands of Strasbourg at the end of the recent mercato were considered excessive by the management, even if the ownership had given the go-ahead to raise the offer.

In January there will be a new attempt, and contacts between the parties are still continuing. The price of the defender will have to drop but Simakan fits Elliott Management’s recruitment blueprint perfectly as he is young, has high potential and a low salary.

The Rossoneri’s intention is to sign him to reinforce the defensive department which is stretched at present with only Romagnoli and Kjaer capable of being counted on.
