MN: Milan still believe in Pellegri after difficult start – U21 call-up provides confidence boost

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have not seen anything close to the best of Pietro Pellegri, but there is still time for the young striker to recover from his difficult start and convince the club to buy him.

MilanNews writes that Pellegri did not expect to receive a call from Italy U21 head coach Paolo Nicolato, who has summoned him for the friendly against Romania that the Azzurrini will play next week. It serves as confirmation that even on an international level the 20-year-old is seen as a striker with huge potential, whose talent has never been questioned.

Pellegri needs to go back to believing in his potential and this will be a big confidence boost for him. His start to his loan spell at Milan has been hampered by the many physical problems so some good luck is needed in that sense, but this could be looked back on as a moment where he turned a corner.

Obviously the competition from Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Olivier Giroud means it will not be easy to get game time even when fully fit, but Pellegri has the right talent to become useful and Milan have a lot of belief in him.

  1. for gods sake stop speaking about this talent BS , what kind of talent are you speaking of ? the guy have never shown any promising signs neither with milan or monaco or even at genoa (unless if you consider breaking a stupid record like youngest goal scorer in serie A -a worthy achievement that reflects any kind of talent !!!)
