MN: Milan will make ‘at least’ three additional signings this summer

By Isak Möller -

On paper, AC Milan have only made one signing thus far this summer and there are still some holes to fill in the squad. Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara are working hard on several fronts and at least three more signings are expected.

Divock Origi arrived on a free transfer earlier this month and Milan have also redeemed the likes of Alessandro Florenzi and Junior Messias. To that, we should also add the returns of Yacine Adli and Tommaso Pobega from loan.

Origi remains the only ‘real’ signing, though, and both Maldini and Massara know that more reinforcements are needed. As per Anto Vitiello in his latest editorial for MilanNews, ‘at least’ an additional three signings are expected this summer.

The Rossoneri are in advanced negotiations with Club Brugge over Charles De Ketelaere and they are also interested in Tottenham’s Japhet Tanganga for the defence. In addition to these two positions, they also want a midfielder to make up for the departure of Franck Kessie.

In short, while the names remain unknown for now, it’s clear that Milan will bring in three players for these positions.

    1. Tanganga and veretout would be depth players not starters who the fuck you want these guys to buy $100m players to sit on the bench. You guys to relax or find a different team to cheer for ffs

    2. Mate think about it, Milan’s philosophy has never been get old players with no really class past, therefore I don’t see us getting Veretout, also got to the remember the source that said we are going to submit a bid for him isn’t even Italian

    1. No way dude. They only have 50m budget. 35m on cdk and the rest will go to renato sanchez or surprising cheap players.

      1. Two questions though:

Did the transfer fee received from selling Hauge increase that budget to more than 50m or that 50m already including it?

Did the transfer fee used to pay for Florenzi and Messias taken from that 50m budget?

      1. Free roaming RW remind me of how Saelemakers often drift inside and even to the left. CdK will certainly be an improvement.

        1. Yep, De Ketelaere is a player who at Brugge roams around a lot that’s why if you check his heatmap when he’s played as a ST at Brugge you hardly see much of him in the opponent’s box, so that’s what I’m thinking of not to even mention how good De Ketelaere is at that roaming tactic

    1. Technically, Florenzi and Messias aren’t new signings, look at our city rivals
Bellanova, Asllani, Mkhitaryan, Lukaku, Onana on top of the strong team they already had that we barely beat to the scudetto
      Napoli- Ostigard, Olivera, Kvaratskheila
Juventus- Pogba, Di Maria, Cambiaso, Bremer
      Roma- Celik, Matic, Svilar, Dybala
      AC Milan- Origi…
I wish AC Milan were as fast as Juve, in the morning I woke up to a Romano post that said Juve are planning to hijack the Bremer deal from inter, in the afternoon on the same day…HERE WE GO, meanwhile in Milan they’re taking months to solidify

  1. The only thing I genuinely don’t understand is dropping 20 Mil on a midfielder, the only way I understand us getting a midfielder is if it’s a trequartista and Pioli fits De Ketelaere into a RW position but if not I genuinely don’t get it because if we are losing 2 midfielders (Baka and Kessie) we’ve also got Adli and Pobega who have both proven to be class but just need some improving here and there. In my opinion I’d rather keep a meh Bakayoko and spend money for Ziyech than drop 20 Mil for what I think is unnecessary

  2. Lol. We have no $$$ yet again. Thx Redbird!! Assuming we get CDK which I am still skeptical – we still need a RW CB Backup LB and additional DM….with what $$ are we going to get all these players? Juve just signed Bremer for 47M plus 5M/season and we still cannot get one transfer over the line. Love this new ownership. Amazing!! LOLOLOLO

  3. We should look at the free agents market. Zagadou from Dortmund is a free agent at CB. We could try to Loan Nico Gonzalez from
Barca at DM and Nicholas Pepé from Arsenal at RW and then Perhaps take Marcelo as free transfer for th LB position.

  4. Some of the comments are stupid, before Maldini AC Milan was a disaster. Now be patient or go support another team. Lukaku, Podba, Di Maria, Debala, aren’t worthy. Only Bremer, R Beullanova, Cambiaso are good or excellent signing but it will depend on the coach. Milan has Adli, Pobega, & CDK be ok. Ideal Milan need a LF LB/CB, DM/CB tall 6″2/6″3 fast players. Cause to really compete in Europe Kalulu need to be the RB. M Gabbia need to be lown out. I would prefere defender S Saw from Saint Etienne & Lukas Sucic from Salzburg.

    1. Go crawl into a hole ..the reasons people are so concerned & bemoaning this great Club is because of the love, compared to the activities of our foes in this League lately Milan looks naked lacking some weaponry in some departments.

And you think we shouldn’t be botherd because last time we relied mainly on tactics and over burdened some player’s brilliance, this Rossoneri’s stockpile low and no true fan wants to see Milan just make a cameo in the Champions League this time.

  5. Oh Milan, what can I liken this team to? Milan is like a bird with one wing and miraculously flew. If the management don’t upgrade the team. well can forget scudetto and possibly CL !!!

  6. Atleast 3 more signing : CDK,japhet and new DMF player. Learn to read guys. We cannot sign RW due to junior & lord saladmaker already there and management want pioli to train CDK play RW position so AMF filled by brahim & adili. We can only buy ziyech or other RW if lord saladmaker out

  7. Alex Korami so you are a fanatic & fanatic are sick anyway. You need to be angry at yourself because you support a team that you have no voice or decision in it.

  8. What happened to Melankovic of Fiorentina as a cheaper option. And he knows the league. Are Milan perhaps looking in the wrong places for deals, that’s why these are so complicated to close.
Surely there must be young prospects locally that they can pursue instead of spending weeks on complex deals with no end in sight.

  9. Milan, needs a very good creative midfielder,it’s a pity the new owners are not like Berlusconi,I missed that man

  10. Milan is a great club, but sadly we have a lot of stupid fans who think real life is like playing FIFA on Playstation. Comparing us to bankrupt Inter is a joke. Our management has done excellent work since the Chinese disaster, but our dumbest supporters will only be satisfied by big transfers. These ‘re the people who were shouting #pioliout only a year and a half ago and they still don’t realise their opnion is worthless. Why don’t they go support PSG who has bought half of Europe and still don’t have a CL or Man City who just copied our jersey in the hope it will help them win the CL once. Even Juve only have the coke cup despite their endless spending. If UEFA really enforced their financial fair play like they did on us, none of these three eternal losers would be allowed to take part in the CL . They need your support more than us.
