MN: Milan tired of waiting amid Donnarumma’s unacceptable requests – bargain for Maignan secured

Gianluigi Donnarumma is at risk of leaving himself in a difficult position as he has no other offers on the table aside from AC Milan’s.

According to MilanNews, there are no other proposals on Raiola’s table besides that of Milan who did everything to try and keep the player, offering him the highest salary in the squad. The €8m net per season put forward by Paolo Maldini was not enough for Raiola nor for Donnarumma and the club grew tired of waiting, so they moved well in advance to secure his replacement.

Mike Maignan arrived yesterday in Milan to replace Donnarumma, fresh after winning Ligue 1 with Lille in a sensational season. The deal has been closed for some time on the basis of a €15m transfer fee, but no one expected that the 25-year-old Frenchman would land in Italy so soon.

Milan secured the best goalkeeper from last season in France at an affordable price and he will sign a five-year contract worth around €3m net per year.
